With a deep passion for mental health and a commitment to helping others, I have had a diverse and impactful career. I began as a secondary school teacher, sharing my expertise in Australia, England, South Africa, and Canada over the last two decades. This experience laid a strong foundation in understanding diverse perspectives and needs.
After my teaching career, I transitioned to law enforcement, serving as a police officer. My time in the police force provided first hand insight into the unique mental health challenges faced by first responders and the broader community. Following my retirement from policing, I used my personal experiences with mental health struggles to make a meaningful difference in the field. I founded the first inpatient Ketamine Residential Program, dedicated to providing innovative treatment options for those in need. My life learning is never done and I recently completed training to become registered with Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, RSSW, Psychotherapist BA, BEd.
Through my work, I continue to advocate for mental health awareness and support. I am excited to be working with Jett Psychological Services to help first responders navigate their paths to well-being.
In my off time I spend it with my paramedic husband, daughter and being kept busy with my three dogs and two cats. We love to go camping, skiing, and traveling the world.
